About Karva

Our furniture is designed to last the test of time and destined to become the antiques of the future.

Karva Furniture is manufactured using old traditional methods, tried and tested over centuries using only the finest timbers.

No two pieces of solid wood are ever the same. This coupled with hand carving, ensures individuality of every piece of furniture.

Drawer construction is of dovetail joints and solid wood bottoms. This type of construction can be traced back hundreds of years and still remains to this day the best and strongest method of construction.

We at Karva aim to to keep the old skills of the craftsman alive by preserving the apprenticeship system, thus ensuring the survival of these fast disappearing skills for the benefit of future generations.

The timber is first selected for colour and texture before being cut into components prior to machining, moulding, pre fittings and turning.

All joints are of traditional mortise & tenon, ensuring strength and durability. Doors and drawers are fitted by skilled craftsmen to ensure smooth operation and a perfect fit.
